J. Laurens' Les Graimenous is remarkable value. It is a traditional method Languedoc sparkling wine which, 99 times out of 100, is a far better choice than similarly-priced Champagne. Made predominantly with Chardonnay (60%) and Chenin Blanc (30%) using the domaine's best fruit and in the same way as Champagne, it has a lovely apple freshness and some subtle bready, toasty notes that mark it out as a wine of real quality.
