Tenuta delle Terre Nere 2017 Etna Rosso
Marco de Grazia of Tenuta delle Nere makes fragrant, ethereal wines from Nerello Mascalese planted on the slopes of Mount Etna. His Etna Rosso is made with a mix of old and young vines and is the best introduction to the fine, raspberry-scented wines Etna is now famous for.
Pale-medium ruby. Maraschino cherry, with a smoky overtone and gentle nutty oak, plus some subtle spice. More smoky-spicy maraschino on the palate with brisk acidity and still pretty primary, fairly firm tannins. A benchmark for the ‘Pinot’ style of Etna Rosso. Good value.
