Lopez de Heredia are bastions of tradition in Rioja, making wine the old-fashioned way, ageing it for years longer than other producers and only releasing it when it's ready to drink. Their white Reserva from the Tondonia vineyard is proper, old-school white Rioja. Aged in traditional old American oak barrels and then in bottle for many years, it is a complex, compelling wine which is drinking wonderfully now, but could easily be kept.
