Guillemot continue to turn out some of the best value wines in Burgundy. It helps that they are in the under-appreciated Savigny-Lès-Beaune area, and working with some wonderful vineyards and old vines. The Les Grands Pictotins plot has their oldest, and the wine has an absolutely delicious scent, a refined and balanced palate and a lightly peppery finish. Drinks well on release, but could be kept for at least five years.
Single 0.75 hectare plot of 50 year old vines. Fermented in wood vats, aged 18 months in old oak and six months in bottle.
