Tokaji is of course best known as a legendary sweet wine, but in recent years the dry whites made from the Furmint grape have been causing a minor sensation. There are some great examples, and the best are light, delicate, crisp and subtle - with great ageing potential. As one of the best producers in the region, Oremus make brilliant wine in all styles, and their Mandolás Furmint is no exception - it's the perfect introdution to the grape.
Crisp and feather-light, with delicious lime, green apple and a touch of grapefruit. Finely hewn and expertly proportioned, with a lovely saline savoury character on the finish.
