Michel Lafarge 2017 Meursault Vendanges Sélectionées
Michel Lafarge is best-known for making some of Volnay's greatest wines, but he and his son Frédéric are more than capable of turning their hand to other Burgundy. This Meursault comes from two parcels of vines around 70 years old. It has all of the finest Meursault's typical qualities - richness and power cut with freshness and minerality.
Extremely ripe citrus with orange and just-ripe apricot. Spicy and mealy too. Creamy. No new oak because it was already so rich. Spicy and deep and with complexity already. Moreish and still fresh with that saline aftertaste of the Lafarge whites (and perhaps more widely) this vintage.
