Flambadou is a big, juicy red made from Jeff Coutelou's old Carignan vines, and only in hot vintages - when the sun has (almost) 'flambéed' the grapes. This is yet another beautiful natural wine from a master craftsman. The old vine fruit and the intrinsic qualities of Carignan make it especially ageworthy, and well worth decanting in advance.
Vineyards around the village of Puimisson, a little inland from Béziers. Large proportion of old vines. Certified organic since 1987. Little or no sulphur even at bottling.
