Jacques Carillon's Chassagne-Montrachet is a recent addition to the range of this producer, already maker of some of the most highly-regarded Premier and Grand Cru wines in the area. Made with young vines (planted in 2013) it is full of energy, with lots of freshness to cut through the richness you typically get in Chassagne. A future classic from one of the safest bets in Burgundy.
More spice and ripeness here than in the Puligny, a little more richness but it pulls in to a pure, fresh finale. Exuberance of young vines.
