Another beautiful wine from the Hatzidakis stable, Nykteri is 100% Assyrtiko made with fruit from very old, high altitude vines. The grapes are left to ripen longer than usual, and the wine is aged in a mix of different oak barrels. The result is a particularly rich Santorini, cut through with wonderful freshness.
Very rich and almost heavy with a note that reminds me of a coconut-scented Keralan dish. Substantial! Leathery texture…
