Lyrarakis are a Cretan winery who have long championed native grape varieties. Their Thrapsathiri has an amazing combination of richness and energy. Sarris are a small winery on Cephalonia, and their Ungrafted Vines of Robola is a new benchmark for the variety. Haridimos Hatzidakis was a master winemaker and quality pioneer on Santorini. His Nykteri is late harvested and shows all the power and elegance of Greece's greatest white grape. But Greece isn't just about white wine. Zafeirakis has pioneered the revival of the obscure Limniona grape, a soft, Pinot Noir-like wine which ages like a Burgundy. In the northern Peloponnese, Tetramythos make beautiful wines. Phellóe, from an old, ungrafted vineyard is a rare treasure. The village of Naoussa is home to the Xinomavro grape, Greece's trump card in red wine. Dalamara are one of the best producers, making a traditional wine of depth to rival Barolo.
