Gérard Gauby started out with a family estate of five hectares which sold all its fruit to the local co-op. Over the years he has transformed that into 45 hectares incorporating some of the best sites in the area, and established his reputation as 'the uncrowned king of the Roussillon'.
Gauby classifies his 'Vielles Vignes' as the 'Premier Cru' wines of his range. Based on very old vine Carignan (125 year old vines), it is one of the Roussilon's best. This is a rare, fully mature example.
Very old vines (the Carignan is 125 years old) around the village of Calce. Fermented with ambient yeasts. 24 months in barrel.
