Faraone Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo 2021
- 12 in stock
The Faraone family are a traditional producer making lovely, classic wines from nine hectares of vineyards in the Abruzzo region, ten miles from the Adriatic. 'Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo' is the dedicated name for the rosé made from Montepulciano here, and means 'pale, cherry red'. Indeed, the wine is somewhere between a rosé and a light red, with a gorgeous cherry flavour quite different from the pale, very lean Provençal style now ubiquitous elsewhere. This particular wine is made from fruit grown in a pergola vineyard planted in 1981. Pinot Noir-like on the nose, it is a delicious, food-friendly rosé brimming with personality and charm.
