Mauperthuis is that increasingly rare thing - a top quality Burgundy domaine turning out lovely wines at a very reasonable price. The Grande Réserve is from a vineyard on the western side of Chablis, towards Auxerre. Everything is farmed organically and fermentation is with wild yeasts. It is wonderful value, with perfect ripe fruit and just the right amount of oaky complexity.
