Domaine de Galouchey 2016 Vin de Jardin
Domaine de Galouchey are defiantly different. Situated in Bordeaux's Entre-deux-Mers appellation and with less than a hectare of vineyard land, they make this wine from all the grape varieties permitted in Bordeaux - red and white together. As a riposte to the often overhyped 'Vin de Garage' wines of the 1990s, they call their wine Vin de Jardin, and it has quickly garnered a cult following among those drinkers weary of Bordeaux's corporate side. The wine itself is instantly appealing - rich, weighty and with a silky texture, combining Bordeaux character with a hefty dash of flair.
Made as a blend of all Bordeaux's permitted grape varieties - white and red. Fermented with wild yeasts. Aged in old oak barrels. Minimal sulphur additions. Unfined, unfiltered.
