Daniel Bouland handcrafts some of the most deeply flavoured, finest wines in Beaujolais. Based in the hamlet of Corcelette, his steep vineyards contain mostly old (60-100 years), densely planted bush vines that have to be tended by hand. Vinified in concrete vats, the wines are then aged in big old oak barrels before being bottled unfiltered. 'Sable Vielles Vignes' is one of the top wines, made from a single hectare planted in 1925. It is weighty, complex and with the structure to age for at least a decade from release.
