Château Maucamps Haut-Médoc 2006
This parcel of mature, traditional claret perfectly encapsulates why we still love Bordeaux. This 2006 Haut-Médoc is a classic blend of approximately 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot from the excellent Château Maucamps, a Cru Bourgeois property owned by the Tessandier family. With 17 years of age behind it, the structure has mellowed beautifully and the wine has taken on the classic cedar wood and mature blackcurrant fruit qualities typical of the left bank.
