Château Cissac 2016
Château Cissac is one of those Bordeaux properties that sits below the illustrious names of the classed growths but consistently produces classic, ageworthy claret made for the table. The wine is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon and the very definition of Médoc in style - blackcurrant fruit with a streak of savoury cedar wood. Drinks well 4-10 years from vintage.
Precise, focused blackcurrant fruit with a touch of plummy fruit too. Smooth texture, almost full body, slight wisps of smoke on the finish. Has all the classic build of bordeaux, and should develop complexity as that fruit intensity evolves over time.Richard Hemming MW, JancisRobinson.com, 27/09/2019
