Balgera have been making wine in Valtellina since 1885. Not much has changed in that time - the winemaking is very traditional and everything in the vineyard is done by hand. It has to be - these slopes are notoriously steep and difficult to work. This is Nebbiolo in a lighter, more delicate style than found in Piedmont, but it still ages magnificently. It has lovely fruit, fine tannins and great freshness.
