Argyros 2001 Vinsanto Late Release (50cl)
- 3 in stock
Vinsanto (not to be confused with the Tuscan 'Vin Santo') is a speciality of Santorini, and Argyros are the masters. The combination of bracing, fresh acidity and concentrated, rich, sweet fruit make this one of the world's best and longest-lived sweet wines. The wine is made from ungrafted Assyrtiko, Aidani and Athiri vineyards in Episkopi that are at least 200 years old, harvested when overripe. For the Late Release Vinsanto the grapes are sundried for fourteen days, then pressed and the must fermented in concrete. The wine is then aged for fourteen years in old wooden vats. This is an intense, massively complex, everlasting wine.
