There's nothing we love more than an unusual grape variety from a Mediterranean island. In the case of Mallorca, it's Callet-Fogoneu, rescued from obscurity by Francesc Grimalt, winemaker at 4 Kilos. When 4 Kilos started in 2006, making wine in a garage and fermenting it in old milk fridges, it may have seemed a bit of an eccentric project. But the wines were good, very good - and they're still getting better. 12 Volts is a Callet-dominated blend released ready to drink.
Hand-harvested. Fermented in steel. Aged 9 months in mix of large and small oak barrels.
