About us

Wine & Greene is a modern independent wine merchant. We have a shop in Totnes, south Devon, right on the High Street in the town's historic Narrows. We sell a carefully chosen selection of things we love to drink, both in our shop and online.

Wine & Greene is run by me, Ben Greene. Before this I spent nearly twenty years working in the wine trade in London, most recently running the online business for one of the best-known independent merchants.

More about us.

Our range is an eclectic mix of hard-to-find European classics, and undervalued wines from under-the-radar places. We're especially interested in the wines of Greece. Rediscovered native grape varieties, spectacular old vineyards, mavericks and traditionalists - Greece has everything the interested wine drinker could wish for, in spades.

Yes! We are based in our very own shop in Totnes, south Devon, at the top of the High Street in the town's historic Narrows.

We're usually open Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-6pm. We're closed on Sundays, Mondays and bank holidays.

OK, nobody needs a newsletter. But we do try to make ours different. It's there to inspire your interest, with stories from the most dynamic wine regions on the planet, armchair entertainment for the interested wine drinker, and access to special wines. Read and sign up

Delivery & returns

Order any 12 bottles (or spend £200) and delivery is free to most UK postcodes (mainland England, Wales and southern Scotland). For smaller orders, there is a charge of £9.95. Other areas of the UK are more expensive to deliver to. We charge exactly what it costs us and this is calculated when you check out.

Usually 1-3 working days after ordering. Most of our deliveries come direct from our warehouse, which is also a specialist wine courier. They're much more reliable and don't often break things, but on the downside there is no online tracking. If you need more exact information about your delivery, contact us and we can check.

We can. Contact us with the details and we'll give you a quote. A minimum order of £500 applies.

We're happy to take back any bottles you have that are still in perfect condition, up to 28 days after delivery. Contact us with the details to get started.

If you suspect a problem with a bottle, reseal it and contact us within 24 hours. For non-fine wine (under £50) we will give you a credit once we verify the fault. For fine wine (£50+), we may be able to refer the problem back to the producer or UK agent. Please note that we can only issue credit up to six months from purchase, and the wine must have been properly stored.
