Tetramythos 2019 Agrippiotis Orange Naturε
Regular price £22/
Tetramythos are one of the most exciting wineries in Greece, making delicious natural wines from a range of native varieties. This is from the extremely rare Agrippiotis grape. It spends 20 days on its skins, which gives it an orange hue and a lovely tannic backbone. It is supple, aromatic and full of energy.
Deep gold more than orange in colour and very slightly cloudy. Wild and zesty on the nose with hints of orange/apricot and pineapple (but without obvious sweetness). Lots of citrus, so fragrant, and doesn’t have the strong aroma of dried grasses that I associate with skin-fermented white wines. On the palate, the tannins are present but softened by the otherwise creamy texture. Distinctive, fresh and likely to be versatile at the table. Delicious: the rich, ripe fruit flavours are well balanced by the mild but definite tannins. This was even better on the day after opening. Intense and very fresh considering the moderate acidity.17 points
