Cota 45 2019 UBE de Ubérrima Miraflores

Cota 45 is a small winery on the waterfront in Sanlúcar de Barrameda. The UBE range looks to Sherry's past for inspiration, to a time when some of the best wines weren't always fortified. Like classic Sherry, it is aged in oak barrels where a layer of protective yeast (flor) develops, but no spirit is added. The result is a bright, lively wine which is incredibly appetising on release, but which could be cellared.
Fabulous smoky aroma, salty and struck match at the same time. Very very smoky on the palate, bone dry, succulent, sour and salty. Distinctive and so delicious. Great length and ageing potential.17 points
