Jurançon is most famous for its dessert wines, but this dry white from Clos Lapeyre is superb. Made entirely from the Gros Manseng grape variety, it has a little of the honeyed character you might associate with Jurançon, but is dry, crisp and refreshing. Clos Lapeyre turned their traditional mixed farm over entirely to viticulture in the 1980s, and now work 18 hectares in prime hillside positions, all farmed organically.
