Penalva make the sort of house wines you wish every restaurant had on their lists. They are at once lively and refreshing, but also elegant and with a distinct sense of place (in this case Portgual's Dão region). The red has a light cherry flavour with a touch of spice and just enough well-defined tannin to make it a perfect supper wine.
