Tatsis 2012 Roditis Orange
- 4 in stock
Tatsis make some of Greece's most interesting, experiemental and best natural wines. The range is bewildering, and there are many highlights including this orange Roditis. Made with extended skin contact and aged for three years in barrel, it has a deep orange colour and an incredibly complex flavour that keeps on developing. Just 600 bottles of this truly remarkable wine are made.
Deep golden orange, like marmalade. Like the caramel round toffee apple. Intense apricot and chamomile nose and a little note of rose oil. Those brown unsulphured apricots. Spicy, dried grasses. Seville orange tang. Tight and tannic and with amazing sour freshness but still masses of fruit. Reminds me of some of the best qvevri wines. Some sweaty lapsing notes. Wonderful mouth-watering freshness and lots of tannic structure but all part of a greater whole.
