Colombera & Garella Costa della Sesia Rosso 2020
Giacomo Colombera and Cristiano Garella own nine hectares of vines spread across three different appellations in Alto Piedmont. Here, to the north of the Langhe, Nebbiolo still dominates but is joined by two other local varieties: Croatina and Vespolina. Costa della Sesia is 65% Nebbiolo, 20% Croatina and 15% Vespolina, fermented with wild yeasts in stainless steel. It is aged for 11 months in neutral oak before bottling. The wine has lovely fresh red berry fruit, fine tannins and superb balance. It is deliciously drinkable.
