Jim Clendenen of Au Bon Climat has been making Burgundy-inspired California Pinot Noir (and Chardonnay) for more than 30 years. For much of that time, the house style was out of favour in most of the US, but it's a different story today - now Au Bon Climat's fresher, lighter wines are absolutely of the moment. His Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir is a light, delicate example, with delicious cherry fruit and herbal notes.
