Lopez de Heredia

Nothing changes at Lopez de Heredia. While the rest of Rioja underwent rapid reinvention, with new oak, shorter periods of ageing and simpler wines, Lopez de Heredia continued exactly the same way it has always done. Since 1877, the estate has been a bastion of tradition, using large, old oak casks (made at their own, on-site cooperage) and ageing their wines well beyond what is legally required, only releasing them when they are ready. Reds, whites and rosés are all ageworthy classics, the finest old-school Rioja around.
