Foundi is a small winery making old-fashioned (in a good way) wines in the heart of Naoussa. The Naoussea bottling is a blend from three vineyards. It spends a year in French oak and further years in bottle before it is deemed ready for release. This is pure, classic Xinomavro, with beautiful upfront sour cherry fruit and some savoury tomato-leaf complexity. It is beautifully balanced, with fine tannins and lovely minerality. Further bottle age is optional, but will add further layers to an already superb wine.

Foundi is a small, family-run Naoussa estate making some of the most enjoyable and best value wines in the area. They produce two outstanding, old fashioned (in a good way) Naoussa Xinomavros. The first is called 'Naoussea', and is a blend from three different vineyards. The second wine is 'Estate', from a single 1.5 hectare vineyard. Both spend a year in French oak and see further ageing in bottle before release. Foundi are one of the few Naoussa producers who keep stocks back for even later release, and both wines age brilliantly. Fans of classic Xinomavro looking for wines that overdeliver need look no further.
