Jeff Coutelou makes lots of perennial favourites, but is more than capable of coming up with new cuvées or reinventing old ones. This amphora-fermented wine is a blend of Castets and Carignan. It has all the hallmarks of Jeff's winemaking - pure, vibrant fruit and compelling complexity that means it's a joy to drink.
|Blend||A blend of Castets and Carignan|
|Region||France > Languedoc|
|Appellation||Vin de France|
|Vineyard||Jeff Coutelou's vineyards are situated around the village of Puimisson, a little inland from Béziers in the Languedoc. They include a large proportion of old vines, and have been certified organic since 1987.|
|Winemaking||Coutelou makes all his wines as simply as possible, including using little or no sulphur to preserve the purity of the fruit. As the name suggests, this is fermented in amphora.|
|Lifespan||Delicious on release. Probably best drunk within a year or two, but some of his wines have been known to age remarkably well.|
