A bottle of Chave's estate Hermitage can set you back hundreds of pounds, but it is one of the world's greatest wines. Under the label 'J.L. Chave Sélection', Jean-Louis Chave also makes more affordable wines using (some) bought-in fruit which offer brilliant value.
Hermitage 'Farconnet' is a window on to the Chave style. While you wouldn't expect it to have all the depth and complexity of the £200 wine, it is a top quality Hermitage with the imprint of the master - ageworthy, balanced and full of energy.
