Equipo Navazos La Bota 52 de Palo Cortado ‘Sanlucar’Regular price £35
The two Indiana Jones-like hunters behind Equipo Navazos scour the cellars of Jerez and the surrounding areas for one-off casks of Sherry. When they find what they are looking for - old (sometimes very old) wines of exceptional quality - they release them in a limited edition series of numbered bottlings. These are genuine treasures of the wine world, and some of the greatest, most undervalued fine wines on the planet. La Bota 52 is a Palo Cortado which started life as a single vineyard, single vintage (2010) wine, before being aged in Sherry butts and barriques filled almost to the top. Rich, yet dry and wonderfully vibrant, it is a superbly balanced wine.
Pale brassy colour. Very umami on the nose! Vibrant and rich and super-tangy. Fabuloso. Rich yet lively and bone dry on the end. Real energy.

Started life as a single vineyard, single vintage (2010) wine. Aged in Sherry butts and in barriques filled almost all the way up (a tocadedos) in order to avoid excessive oxidation.
