Thymiopoulos 2019 Xinomavro Nature
Regular price £18Apostolos Thymiopoulos's Xinomavro Nature is made with fruit from a single vineyard, bought from an old lady in 2006. When she planted it (around 50 years ago) many of the young plants died in a drought. She couldn't afford to replace them, so ungrafted vines from some very old (pre-phylloxera) Xinomavro plantings went in. They are still going today. From these venerable vines, Apostolos makes a low-intervention wine bottled with minimal sulphur additions. It is a light and bright version of Xinomavro, immensely juicy and refreshing, made to drink young.
