If Greece had a Grand Cru system, Dalamara's 'Paliokalias' vineyard would be one of the first names on the list. It is right in the heart of the best winemaking region in northern Greece, and includes a block of vines which were planted in the early 1920s. In the hands of Kostis Dalamaras it consistently produces one of the finest wines in the country.
Paliokalias is only released in the best years so there was no 2018. It's been a long wait, but the 2019 has finally arrived. It was worth it - this is a great wine, one of the very best traditional Xinomavros made. The balance is perfect, the fruit is delicious, and it has the structure to improve with many years in the cellar.
Stock will be ready to send out next week. As always with this wine, production is relatively small and it is one of the most in-demand wines in Greece. Get your order in now.
