Assyrtiko de Louros is arguably Greece's greatest white wine. Haridimos Hatzidakis was a pioneer, handcrafting brilliant, unique wines that showed the world what Santorini could do. Louros was his most prestigious bottling. The fruit comes from a single vineyard of ungrafted Assyrtiko vines that are over 200 years old. Fermented in oak, it combines extraordinary natural freshness and power with a depth, richness and complexity that is seldom seen anywhere in the world.
Haridimos' last vintage was 2016. His daughter Stella elected not to make Louros in 2017 or 2018, but it has finally returned with the 2019 vintage. 2,500 individually numbered bottled were produced, and only 60 are for the U.K. We have taken all of them, and they have now arrived in the warehouse. We are offering them for pre-order. They will be ready to deliver in the next two weeks.
