Greetings from Devon where we've got a new release of what is arguably the best value wine from either Barolo or Barbaresco. Produttori del Barbaresco is frequently described as the world's best co-operative winery. They control many of the prime sites in the village and are unbelievably consistent, turning out quality Barbaresco year in, year out. Their Riserva wines from single vineyards are outstanding, but their village wine, simply labelled 'Barbaresco' delivers a lot of the same quality for about half the price, and is ready to drink much earlier.
The 2016 Barbaresco is a tight and beautiful wine that will require more time to unwind and soften. This beautifully balanced vintage is characterized by a tight inner core of fruit that underlines the graceful aging capacity of these wines. The 2016 is shaping up to be one destined for long cellar aging. Now in its youth, the wine offers wild berry, rose and licorice aromas.

Aldo at Produttori del Barbaresco believes the 2016 release is the best since the 1990s, and indeed it's already picking up great reviews across the critical spectrum. Don't miss it!
